****Update: Due to facility issues, Week 1 and 2 classes will be only take place virtually. In-person classes will start on July 13th and go thru August 12th. The final week of classes will be virtual as well. Sorry for any inconvience and looking forward to see you all in person. ****
The Cultured Cooking Summer Program 2021 is a comprehensive and interactive food education program designed for students ages 11-17. Through simultaneous in-person and virtual cooking classes participating students will engage in culturally enriching educational experiences centered around food. These classes will be led by Jacobsen Valentine; chef, founder and Executive Director of Feed the Mass, a non-profit organization based in Portland. Students will have the opportunity to engage with one another and Chef Jacobsen throughout the class experience, as they create healthy, fresh, hot meals they can enjoy with their friends and family. No previous cooking experience is necessary. We hope to prioritize participation from students who are members of vulnerable and underserved communities.
Virtual Students:
You will receive a unique Zoom code every week. You will also receive the recipes by email & a complete recipe book of the entire program at the end of the program. More information will be emailed to you after signing up.

Middle school Tuesdays at 10am
This group is reserved for Middle Schoolers grades 6-8. Class starts at 10 am and arrival starts at 9:30 am for check-in. Classes will be held 6/22, 6/29, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/10, 8/17 (No classes on 7/6) (Class on 8/17 will be completely virtual.)
